How to connect
Display Compatibility: MFDs, iPads & Tablets
One BoatEye360 camera, four ways to view its live feed. Choose the setup that fits your boat.
Direct HDMI
For marine displays and monitors with an HDMI input. No extra hardware needed.
- Connect the camera's HDMI output to the display's HDMI input.
- Select the HDMI source to view the live feed.
Analog Video
For marine displays with a compatible analog video input. The BNC adapter is included.
- Connect the camera's analog video output to the display's analog video input using the included BNC adapter.
- Select the video source to view the live feed.
IP Network MFDs
For MFDs without HDMI that receive video over the boat's Ethernet network. Can show on multiple networked displays.
- Connect the camera's HDMI output to an HDMI-to-IP encoder.
- Connect the encoder to the vessel's Ethernet network.
- View the feed on any supported MFD on the network.
HDMI-to-IP — Last Resort: HDMI-to-IP requires additional configuration, which can be complex on certain MFDs. Some MFDs may not be able to play a full 1080p stream due to network congestion. A laptop may be needed to configure the settings. We don't offer support for this method.
iPad & Tablet (Wired)
Use a USB-C iPad or tablet as a dedicated monitor. Great for limited dash space.
- Connect the camera's HDMI output to an HDMI-to-USB capture card.
- Plug the capture card into the tablet's USB-C port.
- Open a compatible video viewing app.
Compatibility Notes: IP and tablet integration are not recommended over direct HDMI or analog connections and do not enhance resolution. For best results, use HDMI when available. IP integration requires an HDMI-to-IP encoder that supports your MFD's video formats and protocols. Tablet viewing requires a compatible device, HDMI-to-USB capture card and viewing app. A standard HDMI-to-USB-C cable alone will not work. The BNC adapter for analog connections is included; HDMI-to-IP encoders and HDMI-to-USB capture cards are sold separately.
