Simrad chartplotter camera compatibility
The BoatEye360 night vision camera is the most compatible camera for Simrad chartplotters. As far as we know, it's the only marine camera on the market with both HDMI (1080p digital) and analog RCA outputs in one camera, so it connects to every Simrad NSO 4, NSS 4, NSO, NSS and NSE display with a video input, and to NSX displays through an HDMI-to-IP encoder. Both the BoatEye360 C-1080 V1 and V2 have the same analog and HDMI digital outputs, so they have the same compatibility.

- HDMINSO 4, NSS 4, and NSO evo3 / evo3S 16, 19 and 24: plug in the HDMI cable for a full 1080p picture.
- AnalogNSS evo3S, NSS evo3 (including NSS7), NSS evo2, original NSS and NSE: add the Navico video cable 000-00129-001 (sold separately). The camera's RCA plug goes straight into it. Plug and play, no adapter.
- AnalogNSO evo3S MPU and NSO evo2 MPU (black boxes): these have BNC video inputs. Use the RCA-to-BNC adapter that comes in the box.
- IPNSX and NSX ULTRAWIDE: plug the camera's HDMI cable into an HDMI-to-IP encoder box (sold separately) and connect it to the NSX network port.
- No videoGO and Cruise: these can't show a camera. Use our V2 monitor instead.

Yes, on most Simrad displays that have a video input. Every BoatEye360 camera comes with both an HDMI output (digital 1080p) and an RCA analog output, so you connect whichever one your Simrad display accepts. This page lists 29 Simrad models and the exact connection for each.
Which Simrad chartplotters have an HDMI input?
These Simrad models take the camera's HDMI cable for a full 1080p picture: NSO 4-16, NSO 4-22, NSO 4-24, NSS 4 10, NSS 4 12, NSS 4 16, NSO evo3S 16, NSO evo3S 19, NSO evo3S 24, NSO evo3 16, NSO evo3 19 and NSO evo3 24. On NSO evo3 and evo3S, use the port labelled HDMI IN, not HDMI OUT. NSO 4 and NSS 4 have a digital input only, so use the HDMI cable.
Which Simrad models use the analog (RCA) camera output?

What adapter cable do I need for my Simrad display?
The HDMI cable and RCA cable come with your camera. NSS evo3S, NSS evo3, NSS evo2, original NSS and NSE displays need one extra cable: the Navico Video IN cable, part # 000-00129-001, sold separately. The camera's RCA plug goes straight into it, no adapter needed. NSO displays don't use that cable: NSO evo3 and evo3S displays take HDMI, and the NSO black boxes have BNC inputs (the RCA-to-BNC adapter is in the box). NSO 4 and NSS 4 take HDMI only.
How do I connect the camera to a Simrad NSX?
The NSX has no video input, but it can show network (IP) cameras. Plug the camera's HDMI cable into an HDMI-to-IP encoder box (sold separately) and connect the encoder to the NSX network port. Then on the NSX go to Settings > System > Advanced > Features, turn on Allow IP Cameras, and add the encoder under Settings > Boat Network > Devices > Add Device > IP Camera. The same works on NSS 4 and NSO 4 if you want the camera on several screens.
Can I see the camera on another Simrad display on my boat?
A camera plugged straight into a display shows only on that display. Simrad's manuals for the NSS evo3 and the NSO evo3S MPU say so, and the NSO 4 manual says it doesn't send its video out over the network. To see the camera on more than one screen, use an HDMI-to-IP encoder box: the camera then becomes a network camera that any Simrad NSX, NSS 4 or NSO 4 on the same network can show.
What if my Simrad model has no video input?
NSX and NSX ULTRAWIDE have no video input, but they do take network (IP) cameras, so you can use an HDMI-to-IP encoder box. GO5 / GO7 / GO9 / GO12 (XSE and XSR) and Cruise 5 / 7 / 9 can't show a camera. Pair your BoatEye360 camera with the BoatEye360 V2 10-inch marine monitor instead, which has HDMI and two RCA inputs.
Install tips
- On NSS and NSE displays, 000-00129-001 plugs into the VIDEO IN port on the back. The camera's RCA plug goes straight into it.
- NSO evo3S MPU and NSO evo2 MPU have BNC inputs. Use the RCA-to-BNC adapter that comes with your camera.
- NSO 4, NSS 4, and NSO evo3 / evo3S displays have an HDMI video input. NSS evo3S, evo3 and evo2 have no HDMI input, so use the analog connection.
- For NSX, pick an HDMI-to-IP encoder that streams standard H.264 video (RTSP or ONVIF), and power it before you add it on the display.
- Video plugged into a display shows only on that display. Use an HDMI-to-IP encoder to share it to NSX, NSS 4 and NSO 4 screens.
