Garmin chartplotter camera compatibility
The BoatEye360 night vision camera is the most compatible camera for Garmin chartplotters. As far as we know, it's the only marine camera on the market with both HDMI (1080p digital) and analog RCA outputs in one camera, so it connects to almost every Garmin GPSMAP with a video input. Both the BoatEye360 C-1080 V1 and V2 have the same analog and HDMI digital outputs, so they have the same compatibility.

These have a yellow video port on the back. Garmin included the video cable (it ends in two RCA plugs) with every 6000/7000 plotter, so most boats already have it. Plug the camera's RCA cable into Video 1 or Video 2.

Yes, on most Garmin displays that have a video input. Every BoatEye360 camera comes with both an HDMI output (digital 1080p) and an RCA analog output, so you connect whichever one your Garmin display accepts. This page lists 81 Garmin models and the exact connection for each.

GPSMAP 8208, GPSMAP 8212, GPSMAP 8215, GPSMAP 1223 / 1223xsv, GPSMAP 1243 / 1243xsv, GPSMAP 1623 / 1623xsv, GPSMAP 1643 / 1643xsv, GPSMAP 723 / 723xsv and 52 more use the camera's RCA analog cable. Some need the included BNC adapter or a Garmin video cable, listed in the table for each model.
What adapter cable do I need for my Garmin display?
Usually none. Your camera comes with an HDMI cable, an RCA cable and an RCA-to-BNC adapter, and most Garmin plotters plug straight in (where the table says BNC, use the RCA-to-BNC adapter that's also in the box). Older GPSMAP 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 units use the Garmin video cable that came in the box with the plotter.
Can I see the camera on another Garmin display on my boat?
On most newer Garmin plotters, yes. If the camera is plugged into a GPSMAP 9000, 9000xsv, 9500, 8400, 8600, 8700, 1042, 1222, 1242, or a 723, 743, 923, 943, 1223, 1243, 1623 or 1643, the picture is shared over the Garmin Marine Network to your other networked Garmin displays. On the 9000, 9500, 8400, 8600 and 8700 this works for both the HDMI and analog inputs. The older GPSMAP 8000/8200 Glass Helm, 7400, 7600, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 only show the camera on the display it's plugged into. Garmin suggests no more than five video sources on one network.
What if my Garmin model has no video input?
Models such as ECHOMAP Plus series, ECHOMAP UHD 73sv / 74sv / 94sv, ECHOMAP UHD2 series, ECHOMAP Ultra 102sv / 106sv / 122sv / 126sv, ECHOMAP Ultra 2 102sv / 106sv / 122sv / 126sv and 5 more can't show a camera. Pair your BoatEye360 camera with the BoatEye360 V2 10-inch marine monitor instead, which has HDMI and two RCA inputs.
Install tips
- Garmin BNC inputs are labelled CVBS IN. Use the RCA-to-BNC adapter that comes with your camera.
- For HDMI, use the HDMI cable that comes with your camera. You don't need a Garmin cable.
- Look for HDMI IN. Ports labelled HDMI OUT or DVI OUT only send video out and can't show the camera.
- Plug the camera in with the plotter powered off, then turn it on and open the Video or Camera page.
